Drive Screw

Drive screws are designed for heavy-duty fastening and have round, unslotted heads, multiple start threads with helical angles, and an unthreaded pilot point. They are pressed or hammered into an appropriate-sized cylindrical hole, and the spiral "threads" dig in to the material, creating a relatively secure interference fit.
