Pumps - Dynamic pumps - Submersible centrifugal pumps
Video
Submersible pumps are centrifugal pumps whose hydraulic components (pump casing, impeller, diffuser element) are flooded by the fluid handled. Usually, this type of pump is not fitted with a suction line. Pumps whose motor is flooded in addition to the hydraulic components are referred to as submersible motor pumps.

What are submersible pumps used for?
Pumps that are designed to be submersible are placed within the reservoir of water that needs pumping out. As such, they are often used for drainage in floods, sewerage pumping, emptying ponds, boreholes or even as pond filters.
