A self alignment coupling is a positive, mechanical connection between rotating shafts, which are usually not parallel, but intersecting. They are used to transmit motion, power, or both.

Types of self alignment couplings:

Universal (Hook's) coupling
Oldham coupling
Constant velocity joint
